About last night...

What a night - I was hot, sweaty and gasping for breath...

Wednesday, 11/5 - P90X, Plyometrics, 1 hour
Get your mind out of the gutter people. I was doing the P90X Plyometric workout. It's the 1st time since Ike that I've done it and man, I could tell! For the past 6 weeks, I've been skipping the cardio P90X workouts and only doing the strength training and core workouts. I justified that by thinking that my training runs were enough cardio for the week. I didn't realize until last night how much I was cheating myself out of an awesome workout. I think I will start incorporating at least one P90X cardio workout into my weekly exercise schedule. Seriously ya'll, I was dying before the warm-up was even over. I know running is a cardio workout, but this is a totally different kind of cardio. The hour-long routine is comprised of lunges and squats but with jumps in between, plus a just a lot of jumping and hopping. I just need to remember to wear my heart rate monitor from now on. Anyway, it's crazy tough and I LOVE it. I forgot that in the past 6 weeks, so there will be lots more plyo to come!

Tonight I'm heading to Luke's for a little party just for the store's 4th anniversary. There are supposed to be some nice discounts on everything and there will be tasty treats and cocktails. Woohoo! It's time for new shoes, so I am definitely taking advantage of that discount. I might even get a new running skirt too!

So post election, the 1st thing that popped into my head was the song "It's the End of the World as We Know It (and I feel fine)" by REM. And you know what? I do feel fine. I don't mean it literally, like, it's really the end of the world. I mean it in a good way - optimistic for the best. Some people are so stinkin' dramatic about our new President-Elect and think the sky is literally falling and have that fear-mongering mentality. Puh - lease people, get ahold of yourselves! I didn't vote for him, but hey, I was cool with whatever happened.
Peace-out!

Old Faithful...

Well, I finally had a chance to exchange my Brooks Adrenaline for my old faithfuls - the Saucony Grid Stabil.

Okay so they're not pretty, but sometimes you just shouldn't mess with what works! Many thanks to the staff at Luke's for getting me fixed right up.
I am happy that I don't have a run tonight, because after my scheduled 25 minutes on the dreadmill, it was time for P90X....Plyometrics!
Fortunately, I had a little break between the two workouts and I was able to do the P90X full-out. So much so that my legs had that wobbly, jello-y feeling after I was done. I love it! But, I don't think my legs would like me very much if I made them run after that.
This morning I did the "Back and Biceps" workout, but I still have to do the "Ab Ripper X" tonight. I meant to mention the craziness that is the "Chest, Shoulders and Triceps" workout. I did this workout for the 2nd time on Monday and let me tell you...it is killer! The worst part for me was the slow push-ups where you go down slowly over a count of 4 and push-up over a count of 4. Killer! Then you do it again toward the end of the workout with 3 fast push-ups, followed by 4 slow ones and repeat over and over. I seriously hope I have some super sexy arms after all this! Oh and then there are the one-arm push-ups - I suck at those, but my goal is to do at least one full one before the 90 days is over (right now I can only go down a little without falling to the floor, lol!)!! I don't know what it is, but I just love the upper body workouts!
Hope you have some happy workouts too!
