Great weekend - day 2

I am loving this weather! Last night, the kiddo hung out with her grandparents and the hubby and I went out. We wanted dinner and a movie, so we decided to check out our local Movie Tavern where we could do both at the same time! I have been to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, but this was my 1st time at the Tavern. It was great! The setting was a bit nicer than Alamo, the chairs were comfy, the service was great and the food was yummy (the "Blue Beast" margarita included). We ended up seeing Zodiac. It was very good, very suspenseful and since it was based on true events, very scary!

This morning, I headed to the park for my Sunday LR. Technically, I don't know that I can call 6 miles an LONG, LR...I know with the Lucky Trails 1/2 Marathon coming up in 2 weeks, it should have been more like 1o miles. But for some reason, I could not bring myself to go farther. In fact, I was very tempted to stay in my nice, warm bed and not run at all! But, I managed to drag my butt out of bed and into my running gear. By the time I pulled out of my driveway and was greeted by the gorgeous blue sky and full moon, I was feeling a tad bit more motivated.

I made it to the park a little after 7 am. The park was pretty quiet and I managed to get one of the coveted parking spaces near the tennis center. After a few minutes of stretching I was off...my 1st 2 miles were both exactly 10:16. I decided to slow down a bit, because my goal was just to maintain a 10:30 pace. My next mile was 10:39 - better. Then, 10:51 (?), 10:35 & 10:38. I started at the mile 0 marker and ran clockwise around the park, stopping at the mile 3 marker. Then, I headed counter-clockwise all the way around until I made it back to the mile 0 marker. Between my two loops, I stopped at the restrooms and at my car for water. I must have stopped a tad bit too long, because when I 1st started again, I felt heavy and flat. (Guess that explains the time for mile 3.)

Later, we took the kiddo to get pictures taken. Between school, work and the holiday craziness, we never had a chance to take the kiddo for her 2nd birthday. Bad, I know! We'll be taking Easter pics in about 2 weeks too. The photo shoot went extremely well! What a world of difference from last year, when I was lucky just to get one good shot without tears. Her favorite cousin also came along to help make her laugh...it worked!

Here are a few of my favorites:
