Away from the treadmill

I am so used to Wednesday being my rest day, but with my LR on Sunday instead of Saturday my entire schedule is a little off. I decided early Wednesday morning that I would get in a run after work, then rest on Thursday and run again on Friday. I have classes on Saturday, so my LR would be on Sunday again. I decided to run at the park on the way home from work, so I tossed my running gear into a gym bag and hoped that I didn't forget anything important.

After work, I headed to the park. With all the talk of cool fronts, I expected it to be slightly cooler than the 94 degrees displayed on my car's external temp gauge. But, the humidity was low and there was a nice breeze, so it wasn't too bad. The last time I ran outdoors after work was about a month ago. It was with the Night Crawlers at Lukes and Felix warned us about the 100 degree heat. I cannot remember the last time I ran at the park after work...it's been quite awhile! (BTW, this morning's temp was amazing..would have loved to run!!!)

Houston Fit's schedule said 35 minutes easy and that's what I did. I forgot my watch, so I have no idea of my exact time or splits. I do know that I usually finish a loop in 32 minutes, so I jogged past my starting point for another .25 and back. I think I've gotten used to running in the mornings, because the warmer temps made me feel as if I was going really slow...who knows, maybe I was. It did feel great to be outdoors mid-week, rather than on the treadmill, but I do admit that I prefer to run in the mornings now. By the time I got home, the kiddo was ready for her bath and bed. I'd much rather have the extra hour in the evenings with her!

Running Stats
Conditions - Memorial Park - 94 w/slight humidity
Total Run Time - approx 35 min
Total Distance - slightly more than 3 miles
Pace - ???

Run Long & Livestrong!

Ok, another workout in the bag. WTG!!! I think it's good to mix it up a bit and get out there in the evening. Just think. In a month or so, you'll be complaining that the mornings are too cold! LOL!
