Well, tires. I have come to the conclusion that my friend is not getting her road bike any time soon. No biggie, the girl has a lot on her plate right now and I can completely relate. So, I went to NW Cyclery this week and had slick tires put on the mountain bike. Well, not slick, slick tires, but slicker than the knobby tires...if that makes any sense. :-) The guy at NW was very helpful and showed me some slicks that were "high performance" and would be "fast". Naturally, I had to chuckle. Unless someone put a motor on the bike, I was not going to be classified as "fast" any time soon. Then, he showed me a couple of other options that were not quite as spiffy, but more durable. Durable - I like the sound of that! I am afraid of having a flat out there on the road, miles away from my car. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to change a flat...but, I am taking a bike maintenance clinic at Bike Barn next month, so I am hoping to learn more. And, I remembered to buy gloves!
Here's to more fun riding to come!
Oh and no workouts yesterday. I actually attempted to get out of bed to do Si6, but the kiddo was asleep next to me and woke up every time I tried to get up. Then, it took me over an hour and a half to get her to sleep...for the 2nd night in a row. Trust me, I was running out of songs to sing to her! I used to sing to her at night when she was a baby, but for the past year we've only read books before bedtime. All of sudden, about 2 weeks ago, she has wanted me to sing to her again. I went through every stinking lullaby I could think of, then through all the sunday school songs, then through any slow broadway showtune I could think of, then through some old school stuff (like "Friday I'm in Love", "Borderline", "Time after Time") and then through newer songs. Sad I know! For some reason I couldn't think of anymore of those thousands of Veggie Tales, Wiggles or Laurie Berkner songs last night! I know I should be enjoying these moments because one day she won't need me to tuck her in...but jeeze! :-)

LMAO, I don't even know how to change a flat on a car, OMG I can't imagine doing it on a bike. Look at you getting all cycle chick on us! A bike clinic, huh? Next thing you know it will be a tri clinic ;-)
You're so cute. I have such a horrendous singing voice that I won't sing to the kids. Really it's that bad. I'll read any book they want jsut don't ask me to sing LOL
You are the coolest mom ever...you had me at "Borderline." :D
Happy cycling/running!
So, are you training on the bike for a reason? Or just cross-training? Just curious if I will see you at a tri anytime soon!!
