Good News, Bad News

The good news is that I survived my ride last night. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were only able to get in about 24 of the scheduled 30 miles. Again, the entire ride felt great and I finished wishing I had time to do a little more. I forgot to bring the Garmin and the back-up ironman watch I usually leave in my car was at home too. I have no idea of our pace. I have to remember to get gloves! I know, I said that last time and forgot. I really, really need gloves! Oh, and I tried the fruit punch flavored Accelerade, but this time I diluted it - 1/2 water, 1/2 accelerade. For now, I'm going to stick to my lemonade-flavored Gatorade. I still felt that funky residue on my teeth after drinking the Accelerade and by the end of our ride, my stomach felt weird.

The bad news is that I had morning issues yet again and didn't get in my morning Si6 workout. This time, I set the alarm clock correctly, but I actually pushed the snooze button in my sleep twice! It looks like I'll be running and doing Si6 tonight. I think the oversleeping has a lot to do with DH & I staying up late to watch cheesy movies. I'm still trying to get in as many movies and as much bad reality tv as possible before school starts! So far, we've watched 300 (loved it!), Disturbia (liked it), Premonition (okay) and Vacancy (intense!). Plus, I've caught up on "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Big Love" episodes and started reading The Nanny Diaries.

As for training, I found this 1/2 marathon training plan that only requires running 3 days a week. This may actually work with my school/work/family schedule and actually give me time to bike or swim once a week. Also, since my 5K times have improved since last year, I thought it was time to re-visit the McMillan Running Calculator. Sure enough, I need to adjust my pacing for my easy, tempo and long runs. According to McMillan, my predicted 1/2 marathon time would be 2:17:54, or a 10:32 pace. Of course McMillan doesn't account for my inconsistent training during crunch time at school. :-) Before checking McMillan, my goal finish time was 2:20. That would be 6 minutes faster than my Austin 1/2 time earlier this year. We'll see. Honestly, my goal is to just be more consistent in my training between now and the Aramco 1/2 , do my tempo runs and speed work every week and to not stress out if school interferes from time to time.

Easier said than done!

Ooooooo I'm glad you saw 300. I've been meaning to ask this to Blogland but keep forgetting. What movie/show was the one eyed dude (the narrator) in before? It's been driving me nuts! Was he in a soap opera or something?

I'm using FIRST for my HM as well. I picked up the FIRST book "Run Less Run Faster" it has everything all mapped out (what paces/ miles/ intervals, yada, yada). I like it for the same reason, it's flexible and it only requires 3 days a week running. So far so good :-)

What is it with darn life interfering with the running? I keep waiting for work to get that memo :P I have 300 sitting on my kitchen counter at home to watch. I just need to find a time when the kids are asleep and I am not ready to drop to watch it!

OOhh I love that book!

Don't you love McMillan? I am so bad at adjusting my runs too - my body seems to want to run everything at the same darn pace. But you can do it! Focus, focus! (Plus, focusing keeps your mind occupied, so the runs go by quickly!)

Great job on your bike ride!

OK on the training I can offer no words.
1. I am officially a novice.
2. I am still gimping around and xt'ing like crazy.

Now the Nanny Diaries, super cute!! I read it a few years ago and now counting the days till the movie on Fri. I read Marley and Me about a year ago and that was cute too, and just found out they are gonna make that one in to a movie as well.

The y have this really new cute alarm clock I saw in Womens Health that if you hit snooze once the next time it will roll of the dresser so you will have to get up and go chase it. LOL!

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of financial piramyde, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and I started with funny 500 bucks.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.
