HOW?

I'm not complaining - let me say that up front. But, how in the hell does this happen?

Last week was terrible. I was stressed and sleep deprived...as a result, I ate crap all day, every day. We have all these little containers in our lunch room with evil things like Oreos, chocolate covered raisins (as if I'd eat those), M&Ms (both peanut & plain) and all kinds of candy from hershey's minatures to mini-reese's to mini-Snickers, Almond Joy, Milky Way, etc. I sampled several of each last week (except the raisins), rather than being a good girl and eating my fruit or even my Weight Watchers snacks.

Friday, I had pizza and calzone with my study group. Yesterday, I had burgers and cookie cake.

The result??????

I LOST 2 LBS!
2 LBS PEOPLE!

So the past 4 weeks, I've been super good - sticking to my points and journaling everything. The result - 2.2 lbs the 1st week, .8 the second week, .5 the 3rd week and another .5 the 4th week. Four pounds in four weeks. And week 5, I eat like crap and I DON'T WORK OUT, and I lose 2 lbs. I wasn't even going to go to Weight Watchers today, as I was expecting a gain.

I'd like to try the same method again this week, but somehow I think that it will eventually catch up to me. In the meantime, I will bask in the glow of losing a total of 6 lbs and only having 7 more to lose.

its probably the previous couple pf week
s work really coming to fruition. i know for me the scale doesn't move for weeks and then suddenly I'm down again...weird huh

all that candy in the office- holy goodness, I would be in big trouble! I'd eat it all--down to the raisins if I was desperate! LOL!

I made a delicious (if I do say so myself) double chocolate bundt cake this weekend.

There's a few pieces left if you'd like some! It's sure not doing anyone any favors at our house!

Sometimes your body needs that jump of fatty/greasy/ sugary foods. It tricks your metabolism. I used to zig zag cals all the time to keep from plateauing on the weight loss. GREAT JOB chica!!

Bonnie and I are doing WW too...since the first of the year..which happens to have coincided with when I started to run I've not been able to lose weight..in fact since my HM at the end of April I've gained almost 10 pounds back....but over the past 10 or 12 days I've lost between 6 and 7 pounds by the WW scales we have at home. I admit I'm not journalling like I should but try to watch what I eat and portion control...but sometimes my hunger gets the best of me.....

Weight gain is so weird. I have gone from running 12 miles a week to over 30 (for over a month now) and I eat less crap and food in general and I haven't lost an ounce.

I'll never understand it.

When I was actively losing weight, I did discover that I would lose faster if I had one splurge day a week rather than sticking to the plan all 7 days.

My problem is limiting myself to only one splurge day = ( I'm happy for you!! You motivate me to be more careful!
