Easing back into it...

This past week was a pretty easy one with the running. I decided to ease back into it, since it had been quite a few days since my last run. Unfortunately, I didn't get in any longer runs this week with Thanksgiving and family stuff going on beginning on Wednesday...time to kick it back into high gear now that the holiday stuff is over!

Monday, 11/23 - Treadmill run - 3 miles, 10:40 pace
Can you tell by my pace that this was indeed an "easy" run? I can!

Tuesday, 11/24 - Treadmill run - 2 miles, 10:03 pace
This wasn't a scheduled run day and I didn't have much time, but I knew there wouldn't be much time to run for the next few days. I decided to make this a progressive run - quality over quantity, I guess. It also happened to be my sweet Kiddo's 5th birthday! I had a Dr's appointment in the morning, so I was able to take the kiddo to breakfast beforehand. Good times!

Wednesday, 11/25 - no workout
The goal was to leave work around 3 pm, run a couple of quickie errands and then hop on the treadmill for a few miles before picking up the kiddos from school. Then, we'd be off to a hotel downtown where we could watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Yeah, good intentions. The school called me at 2 pm to let me know that the Munchkin had just thrown up. Yikes! So, I had to head straight over to the school. Next, the hubby called me to let me know he had to work late. Not a great start to the holiday weekend!

Fortunately, the Munchkin was okay. After talking to his teacher, it sounded like he was coughing a lot (from yucky drainage) and threw up a bunch of mucus. I was just happy he didn't have some sort of stomach bug. We were able to head to downtown as soon as the hubby made it home and enjoyed the parade. Oh and as I type this on Friday, those errands are still not done. lol!

Thursday & Friday, 11/26 & 11/27 - no workouts
We headed out to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving dinner after the parade, so no workouts on Thanksgiving. On Friday, I had a date with Target at 5 am, followed with breakfast with the family and some cousins in from Florida. I knew I'd be doing my long run on Saturday, so there would be no running again! This is where I begin to feel like a total slug - I did get the house nice and clean, the grocery shopping done and all the laundry washed, dried and put away though!

Something New

Tonight, I decided to try something new. No swimming. No biking. No running. Instead, I went to "Nightclub Cardio". This is a fairly new class and there was even an article in the Houston Chronicle about it a few weeks ago. A friend of mine went to the class several weeks ago and had a great time, so she invited me to come along. Lemme just say, this class is very popular. When I tried to go on-line to register, the classes for the next several weeks were sold out. Tonight's class was the 1st class available.

When I arrived at the nightclub, I noticed there was a wide variety of women there (and a handful of guys too) - very fit, not so fit, large, small and everything in between. The class started a little late, but eventually the lights dimmed and the class got started - but the fun colored club lights and Michael Jackson videos on the big screen were on. The instructor was full of energy and got everyone warmed-up and pumped...unfortunately, I couldn't understand a word she was saying on her microphone, but that was okay. Honestly, if you're very fit, this may not be the workout for you. It isn't a really hard core, kick your ass kind of workout. It's aerobics with a dance club twist. There's a lot of jumping up and down with arms flailing, a lot of booty shakin', with some squats thrown it. During the "Maniac" song from Flashdance, we all did the running in place thing from the movie. There was even a "Soul Train Line" to the song JT/Madonna tune "4 Minutes" - yes, I even took a stroll down the line!

My take on it? If you're new to working out, this is a good workout that might be somewhat challenging. I'm not sayin' I am a super-athlete-fitness-goddess by any means (or even close!), but I found myself wanting to go workout afterwards. Really workout. Then again, it was my 1st time...you can probably make the workout more intense by getting into it more. I will say, it was a damn good time and yeah, I might do it again. :-)

Workouts

Here's a quick catch up. Feeling rather blah and not really in the mood to blog tonight.

Thursday, 7/9
Skipped spin class and went to the pool - total waste of time! Kids everywhere and nowhere to actually swim. I was there for 30 minutes and might have gotten in 500.

Friday, 7/10 - Run, 5 miles, 11:34 pace
"Long" run of 5 miles. Despite the heat, it actually felt great. Running through all the neighborhood sprinklers might have helped a lot. :-) I started out slower than usual, thinking that I would pick up the pace later. I did, but not much. Also, running 9/1s is getting easier...thinking about switching to walking a minute at each mile.

Saturday, 7/11 - Family day!
Was going to rest completely, but did Ab Ripper X just 'cause.

Sunday, 7/12 - Rest Day
Busy day - went to church, shopped a sale at Toys R Us for the kid's Christmas stuff, visited a friend and her new baby (welcome to the world baby Hayden!), took the kiddo to see Ice Age 3 after lunch...that was enough!

Monday, 7/13 - AM Swim, 35 minutes, ~1000 yds
Met Jen at the pool this morning. Arrived a little later than planned, but got in some good laps. Slowed down and concentrated on my breathing and form. May do this again for the rest of the week and then go back to doing drills. Gotta get faster! I timed my 300 and it was still around 8:15...pathetic!!!

Sporadic

I have been incredibly sporadic with my posting...must be all the time I've been spending on FB instead, lol!

So, here are my workouts so far this week. I have cut waaaayyy back on my workouts last week and this week. Mostly due to life stuff, and then work conflicts have kept me from my lunch time spin class...don't these people know I have a tri to train for????

Sat & Sun, April 11 & 12 - No workouts
Between getting stuff ready for Easter festivities, the hubby's work schedule and Easter itself, there was no time to workout.

Monday, April 13 - Treadmill run, 10 minutes
I procrastinated about getting on the treadmill all evening and when I finally did, the baby started crying once I had been on the treadmill for about 10 minutes. Darn procrastination and darn teething!!!

Tuesday, April 14 - Treadmill Run, 37 minutes
No spin class and no pool - I went to our Austin office and didn't get home until around 7:30 pm. That left me with the option of running, so running it was! The first few minutes were just a warm-up, then I did 3 miles progressively increasing my speed followed buy a few minutes of cool-down.

Wednesday, April 15 - Rest day (unplanned)
Wednesday nights are usually my run nights, but the kiddo was not cooperating at bedtime and by the time I got lunches and clothes ready for the next day it was almost 10 pm. I did manage to watch LOST while I was getting everything done, but no workout.

Cough, Run, Cough, Bike, Cough

Between the back and funerals one week, and the lovely head cold the next, the workouts have been few and far between lately. I hate it, because I feel like I've missed two very vital weeks of training for both the Zooma 1/2 and the tri. To top it off, I still have a lingering nasty cough and my runny nose returned last night. Grrrr....

Thursday, February 12 - Brick - bike/run - 40 minutes
I was feeling great on Thursday, so I decided to head to the Y for a spin class during lunch. That plan was foiled when a 10 am meeting ran long and I missed the spin class. Sooooo...I headed over to the Y after my meeting and did 20 minutes on the stationary bike, followed by 20 minutes on the treadmill. Not much of a workout, but a good "ease back into it" workout I suppose - and my 1st brick. The only problem was the coughing. People looked at me funny and one guy asked if I was okay, lol.

Friday, February 13 - Swimming - almost
I was in a training class in The Woodlands all day and looked forward to heading over to the Y for a swim the entire time. Since swimming is my weakest sport, I didn't want to go an entire week without at least one swim! When I arrived at the Y, I saw a work truck parked near the pool and the pool doors open. Hmmmm....that's strange. Then, as I walked by, I noticed that no one was in the pool. Hmmmm...not looking good. When I entered the Y, I could see the pool through the windows. Even the lifeguards were not there. Dang! Next, I noticed a nice little sign on the counter - "The pool will be closed for repairs on Friday, February 13..."! UGH! I hadn't brought any other workout clothes, so home I went.

Saturday, February 14 - Long Run - almost
The goal was to head out for my run as soon as the hubby made it home from work. However, one of our friends stopped by before I made it out the door and by the time he left it was pouring down rain (complete with thunder and lightening). I still had to make it to the grocery store for stuff for our Valentine's Day dinner and finish the truffles I was making, so again no workout.

Sunday, February 15 - "Long" run - finally!
After church, I decided to take the car to NTB for some work. Turns out that I needed an alignment, a couple of new tires and new brakes....my car was there until 5 pm! In the meantime, I was hanging out with the kiddos at my parent's house since they live nearby. The hubby picked us up on the way home from work, so I could do my run. Unfortunately, my run was cut short due to all this. My 8-miler with hills ended up just being a 6-miler in the 'hood because that was all I had time for. Oh well, I'll just call it a cut-back week and hit the hills again next week! It was probably for the best, since I felt like I was coughing up a lung the entire time!

More Workouts...

WEDNESDAY
I woke up early to get in a run. The Fit schedule called for 25 minutes. To be honest, I really didn't feel like running. The temps weren't too bad at 6:30 am, but the humidity was just plain nasty. It wasn't pretty, but with the help of the ipod and amphipod, I managed to finish. Afterwards, the kiddo and I had a movie date with my sister-in-law and nephew.

Workout #1 - 25 minutes running, 5/1 intervals, outdoors (6:30 am)

Later in the day, while the kiddo was entertaining herself with her toys and the munchkin was in the bouncy seat, the hubby and I decided to do our P90X workout. Yoga day! I was excited to have something low impact to do for a change. Ummm yeah. I did learn something new....

I HATE YOGA!

First of all, I was surprised to find that the workout was 1 1/2 hours long. I mean seriously, who has time for a 1 1/2 hour workout? Tony Horton obviously doesn't have kids. Especially not two under the age of 4. Second, holding poses for 30 seconds at a time and then doing them over and over again is just not for me. Can we say boring? My poor hubby, I think I grumbled the entire time. Plus, we had to stop the DVD about 40 times to tend to the kiddos. :-) Oh and the knee? It's still sore as heck!

Workout #2 - 1 1/2 hours of Yoga

THURSDAY
Okay, I should have woken up early to run! But, I wanted to "sleep in"....you know, until 6:10 am when the kiddo comes tiptoeing into the room and demands breakfast. Jeeze, I should have just gone running. If I had only known sleeping in would not be a realistic goal. I should know better. I had some errands to run - Dr's appointment for the munchkin, followed by a visit to the office so everyone there could see him. The kiddo came with me, so the hubby had a chance to do his P90X workout without interruption. When I made it home, I didn't have enough time to do the entire workout before the kiddo's swim class (and the hubby's hapkido class), but the hubby entertained the kiddos so I could at least get some of it done. After swim class, I did managed to finish the last 1/2, plus the ab ripper. The kiddo exercised with me - sort of...she did her own variation of a workout which consisted of jumping around on exercise mats, hopping on one foot and running to the front door and back. :-)

This time it was legs and back. Now I love lunges and squats, but once again P90X manages to take it up about 50 notches and makes these some killer exercises! I am surprised I can walk this morning. And then there was the ab ripper. Again. For some reason, it seemed harder today. Perhaps because I am still sore from the other 2 times I've done it this week???

Today I will get in a 20 minute run...even if it's on the dreadmill. Then, it's something called "Kenpro X", described as a "high intensity cardio workout". Sounds fun! Tomorrow is a "rest" day, which is good since it's my school day. However, if I really want to I can try the "X Stretch"....we'll see!

Workout - 1 hour, legs and back and 16 minutes of ab ripper

By the way, we're closing on the house in just a few hours! Wooohooo!!!!

Misc Shiznit

Workouts 1st -
Monday
50 minute super brisk walk with some neighborhood gals.
As much as I need to get back to the running, I really enjoyed walking with the chicas from the 'hood. Maybe I can convince them that they need to start running. LOL!

Tuesday
40 minute bike ride
I added 10 extra minutes and increased my pace...by how much I don't know...I need to either get a computer thingy for my bike or dig my Garmin out of the boxes we have yet to unpack.

Wednesday
No workout, unless you count my homework as a workout...maybe a workout of the mind? :-)

Speaking of school, I'm taking 2 classes this semester...have I mentioned that this is my FINAL SEMESTER??? One is a Marketing Capstone class that combines all the stuff from the previous marketing classes. We have to come up with a detailed marketing plan for a fictional product.

Piece.of.cake. (for reals)

The other class is our Management Capstone that combines EVERYTHING we've learned in our illustrious MBA careers and combines it into a big 'ol project. The class is split into 6 groups that make up 6 different companies that all sell the same product. We have to strategize on everything from our R&D, production, marketing, HR, TQM, etc. without knowing what the other teams are doing.

Kicking.my.ass. (true story)

I didn't think this was going to be difficult, afterall our group includes two of the most financially savvy minds in the entire MBA cohort. Plus, we've had this professor before and even though he's the toughest one I've had, he's an excellent teacher. No sweat, right?

WRONG!

Our group placed last in the 1st two practice rounds! Out of 5 stars we could obtain, we obtained none in the 1st round and 1 in the 2nd round. But, thank God that was just practice. The problem, you ask??? Our financial geniuses over analyzed everything and overestimated the program we're using. Fortunately, we've dumb-downed our strategies and viola, we're now in 2nd place. Last year, our stock price rose by $25!!! LOL! We start the real rounds on Saturday, so hopefully we've learned from our mistakes and will kick butt. Oh, and on Saturdays, we're at school from 8 am - 8 pm getting this shiznit done...plus we're meeting during the week. Someone keep reminding me that this is my LAST SEMESTER please.

That's enough blabbering for now...I'll fill you in on the baby stuff and work tomorrow.

Pics, pics and more pics (this for you Pony!)

First of all, I had my 6 weeks dr appt today and I am officially cleared to workout. Woohoo!

After my appt, I had one errand to run before heading home. I had the baby with me...you could day this was our 2nd real outing together. I was pleasantly surprised to run into Tiggs! Cassie, was great talking to you!!!
No workouts today...unless you count cleaning the house as a workout. A couple of friends are swinging by tomorrow to check out the house and see the baby, so I wanted to mop, vacuum, dust, etc. I did get in a 30 minute brisk walk on Tuesday and a 30 minute bike ride on Wednesday. I really wanted to get in a swim on Wednesday, but by the time I actually got out there, the pool was crowded. Looks like my next swim will be in the wee morning hours on Sunday!
So, without further ado, I am posting some pics of the new house and neighborhood. Some of these were taken way back in April and in all honesty, not much has changed. There are still boxes everywhere, we haven't bought any new furniture and there is still nothing on any of the walls (except in the kid's rooms)! I don't think I will get to any decorating until I am done with school in August. Pony asked for these months ago...so Pony, these are for you! Please excuse the quaility...I need a new camera. I forgot to get pics of the kitchen and dining room..and, I left out the pic of the playroom/guestroom (it's mess with toys everywhere!).
The exterior...

The entryway...

The living area (okay, it really needs some color!!!)

Breakfast area...I don't know why I didn't take any pics of the kitchen!?!

Master Bed & Bath...(yes, we need a king-sized bed!)

Upstairs gameroom...aka Hubby's future media room (right now it houses an old couch, the treadmill and our computer desk)

The kiddo's room:

The munchkin's room:

The kid's bathroom theme:

The backyard:

My favorite things...the trails, playgrounds and lake!

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly

THE GOOD
I did it. For the 1st time in over a year I made it to the pool for a swim. In fact, I managed to get in a 1/4 mile swim! I've been to the pool in the new 'hood several times with the kiddo, but that only consisted of splashing around and playing with the kiddo.

My neighbor, Kathy, met me there at 7 am as planned. She's also an avid runner, but sticks to trails due to some past stress fractures. She also bikes and like me, is a novice swimmer. However, she has been in the pool a lot lately and is much better than me.

THE BAD
Due to all the rain last summer, a majority of my swim lessons were cancelled. However, I did feel like I had made a lot of progress by the time my 3 weeks of lessons were over. Unfortunately, when I started my attempt in the pool this morning, I felt like I had forgotten a lot...well okay, I felt like I had forgotten pretty much everything.

I still have the issue of not being able to breathe correctly. Several laps consisted of me stopping midway to cough up the water I had either snorted or swallowed. Around my 3 lap, I caught myself just swimming with my head up. Then I had to give myself a stern talking to..."Christy, this is not how you're supposed to swim, this is stupid!"..."If you don't at least try to get the breathing down, you're never going to get it!"... or a simple, "get your freaking head in the water!"

So yes, I did get in a quarter mile...but I stopped after a length and rested. Kathy rested for 15 seconds between length...my rests were more like 30 seconds, sometimes longer. 30 seconds of panting and trying to catch my breath. So, I won't tell you how long it took me to do that 1/4 mile. ;-) It was bad.

THE UGLY
By the end of my swim, I was pooped. In the last two laps, my calves were cramping and I was done. That part was ugly. Well, that and my hair. LOL! I need to get a new swim cap, because I haven't been able to find mine since the move.

The not so ugly part was that I had fun. Hell, I had a blast. Kind of like riding my bike...I really, deeply enjoy it and it doesn't feel so much like work. Now, if I could just suck less at it....

I think I am going to try to work in 2 swims per week, 2 runs per week and a bike ride per week (and maybe a few brick workouts mixed in) until the maternity leave is over. After that, I'll have to rethink the strategy.

1/4 mile swim

Here I am..

just feeling a bit in limbo...ready to have this baby, but still so much work and school stuff to do! Yes, I realize I will never have everything done...but, I'd like to be as close as possible.

Naturally, I am excited to finally meet the little guy I've been carrying around all these months. But, the other thing I am really excited about is working out again!

Not the pansy ass little neighborhood walks...I'm talking REAL WORKOUTS.

The legs and arms like jello, achey muscles the next day, kick my ass kind of workouts. :-)

I am undecided on the running though. My 1st goal will be to lose the baby weight. Sure, running will help me burn calories and all that, but I also want to focus on strength training and getting my core stronger. Before I found out I was preggo, I was having a lot of issues with my lower back...the PT hottie said it was all about building a stronger core. I really want to vary my workouts though - some bike, some swimming, some running. To be honest, I miss my bike more than I miss running. Probably because it was still new to me when I had to stop...kind of that "honeymoon" phase. The running had gotten old...partially because I was burned out from the same old routine and not having enough time to really dedicate to it. The good news is that as of August 16, I will be done with school (not that I'm counting the days or anything)!!!!!!!! Yes, I will have an additional child, but I will have a bit more time to dedicate to working out again. Wooohooo!!!

So, I am up in the air - join a gym? get a trainer? try a new home routine (maybe the P90X? TurboJam looks fun too.)? With the recent move (and the increase in gas prices), I am tinkering with the idea of joining Woodlands Fit....although, I'll admit that the entire time I've been in school I've been wanting to try Kenyan Nights (the morning program doesn't work with the hubby working nights) or a Bootcamp at Memorial Park in addition to Houston Fit. I dunno, I guess I'll wait and see. I may have to eventually change the name of this blog though. :-)

ETA: Just for Jamoosh, I changed the comments so that you no longer have to worry about the word verification...which, as he pointed out, it pretty pointless when your blog is password protected. So now, my 1.8 readers have it easier! :-p

Workouts

What workouts?

Ever since I was having those lovely BH contrax a week or so ago, I've been a little scared to do too much. So, here are my lame workouts over the past week:

Wednesday, 4/2
25-ish minute walk with a 1/2 hour stop at the playground in the middle

Friday, 4/4
25 minute fast walk around the mall getting very last minute shower/bachelorette party gifts for that night

Sunday, 4/6
Another not real workout - walked around the block while the kiddo rode her bike..approximately a 1/2 mile, but I was uncomfortably bent over her making sure she didn't ride off of the sidewalk...that has to count for something. LOL!

Monday, 4/7
Trying to stay awake in Ethics class...does that count? It takes quite an effort!

Tuesday, 4/8
Walked up and down stairs what felt like 100 times taking the baby gifts from the living room to the nursery. :-) Hey, I was exhausted afterwards!

Weekend

Well, the weekend is once again over. Sigh.

I felt much better when I woke up on Saturday and headed to school. The thought of skipping class did cross my mind, but I had a presentation to do and would not think of putting that off. After class, I basically just hung out with the hubby and kiddo. We went to the grocery store and the kiddo was acting so much like herself, that we decided to walk to the "big" playground in the neighborhood. The weather was great and it felt good to get out, but I didn't realize that the playground was right at a mile away the way we went to the playground...we took a different route the way back, which was over a mile. Ummm, can I just say that that little walk was the longest I've had in several weeks and being in the sun didn't help either. My back was killing me when we were done! To top it off, I had to pee. I felt like a complete wuss!

I'm not sure if the walk had anything to do with this or not, but I had a few of what I *think* were Braxton Hicks contractions about an hour later. Then, I had them again this morning for about an hour. Scary! I say I *think* they were BH, because with the kiddo I had to be induced. She was nowhere near ready to come out...she hadn't dropped, there was no effacement, almost no dilation, no water breaking with me saying "Honey, it's time!" in the middle of the night. By the time I had *real* contractions, I had an epidural!

After I was sure I wasn't in real labor, we took the kiddo to Chuck E Cheese (we missed her playgroup earlier), where she ate pizza and played games until she was worn out. And after that, we pretty much called it a day.

Now, I'm off to get as much homework done as possible...just in case!

Workout
Neighborhood walk - 40 minutes (it felt like I was walking faster than that!!!)

"Workouts"

Okay, so some of these may not qualify as a *real* workout...the kiddo was walking with me and we took a break midway through the walks to check out the neighborhood playground equipment. Quite honestly, at this point in my pregnancy, I am perfectly okay with that. With less than 6 weeks left to go, my pace is slow and I get winded quickly.

Can I just say - I love, love, love the nature trails in the new neighborhood?!?! Yesterday, as the kiddo and I got to the playground, the sun was sparkling on the little man-made lake and it was just absolutely gorgeous!

Saturday
30 minute walk
Took the kiddo for a stroll on the nature trails around the neighborhood. 15 minutes, then a 30 minute stop at the playgroup, followed by another 15 minutes.

Sunday
30 minute walk
Same as Saturday, just a different route and different playground

Tuesday
Treadmill - 25 minute walk
Started out slow, but felt great midway through and increased the speed a little.

Wednesday
30 minute walk
Same as Sat & Sun, but this time the kiddo was in the jog stroller which meant I could go a little faster.

S.O.S.

Nothing new to report, hence the same ol' sh*t title of this post. The packing continues and my house is gradually becoming a vast wasteland of boxes. Okay, maybe vast isn't the right word...it's a small house. School work is being neglected, so it's time I get my butt in gear! I need to read chapters, work on a presentation and begin working on a term-paper.

Workout Stats
Treadmill, 30 minutes @ a 17 minute pace.

I am getting slower and slower! I swear I couldn't go any faster no matter how hard I tried.

Bigger belly = Slower pace.

I also wanted to work out my arms again, but I sat down on the couch to watch a couple minutes of the news and the next thing I know I am waking up to the last 5 minutes of Nightline! LOL! Maybe tonight?

Tuesday, March 04, 2008

Okay Texans....don't forget to vote today! And, in case you didn't know, you can vote in the primary today and then caucus tonight.

I actually considered voting during early voting, but there's something exciting about voting on election day. Okay, so maybe it's just me and I'm a dork that way. :-) I seem to have a knack for being preggo during the election year. Riley was due in late November 2004 and I was so worried that she would decide to come early, that I actually did vote in early voting...just in case! Little did I know she would be over a week late and would have to be induced.

Anyway, whoever you're supporting - just get out there and vote!

Workout Stats - Sunday
Treadmill walk - 30 minutes (side stitch paid me another visit, but luckily it went away quickly!)
Arms - 15-ish minutes of free weights

Phoenix Fun

I've been in Phoenix for the past couple of days. The one nice thing about traveling for work is that I can usually make time for working out. No kiddo + no meals to cook + no house to clean = a little free time. I'll fill in all the details later, but for now here are my workouts...

Workout Stats

Sunday
35 minute stroll around the shopping center across the street from hotel

(Okay, not a real workout, but the weather was awesome and it was better than being on a treadmill outdoors!)

Monday
Treadmill, 30 minutes
(hooray, no side stitch! My pace was around 16 min/mile...yes, that means I was actually going slower than that when I did have the side stitch issues)

Tuesday
Stationary bike, 30 minutes
(I discovered that this is much, much better for me right now! I must get a trainer for my bike at home...I had none of that pesky crotchy pregnancy pain afterwards!)

Okay, the rest of the week doesn't look good for working out. I have homework to do and the hubby and I need to work on packing up the house!

Weekend....

I took Thursday and Friday off as far as workouts go. Saturday the kiddo actually slept until 7:47 am..oh bliss!!! We made it to Memorial Park a little after 9 am and I think everyone was determined to enjoy this awesome weather, because the park was packed! I managed to get in about 13 minutes with the jog stroller before the stitch in my side hit. It was all I could do to make it to the park bench near the 3/4 mile marker. It sucked! But, the kiddo didn't seem to mind the stop, because she liked watching the runners and walkers go by, as well as the golfers on the golf course. Afterwards, I agreed to let the kiddo run and walk...it gave me an excuse to slow down the pace for awhile. I finished up and then we headed to the playground. The weather was so amazing, I'm glad I had a chance to enjoy it with the kiddo. In the afternoon, after the hubby woke up, we headed out to look at houses. In about 3 weeks, I am hoping that I will be announcing that we're the proud owners of a new home...I'll keep you posted!

The goal was to get out to the park again this morning. Unfortunately, the kiddo tummy wasn't feeling well. Later, I started feeling queasy. Turns out DH noticed the same feeling after eating some peanut butter a couple of days before....gee, wish he would have shared that info with me before the kiddo and I both indulged in PB toast the afternoon before. The kiddo did get sick later in the evening. Poor thing! So far, I've only had the queasy stomach...let's hope it stays that way!

Tomorrow, I have class until late into the evening and on Tuesday it's off to Lubbock to visit Tech. I'm hoping to get some walking in on the hotel treadmill on at least one day.

another workout...

This one was cut short due to time constraints...the kiddo did not go to sleep until after 10:30 pm!

Workout Stats - Wed
Treadmill - 20 minutes, slow as usual

BTW, the older house did get snatched up by someone else. Lessons learned:

1) Stop procrastinating. If you really like a house, make a freakin' offer already. Don't waste 2-3 weeks hemming and hawing. If the other person is doing the hemming and hawing, give him a swift kick in the arse. :)

2) Listen to your realtor. If they think you are offering too little, hear them out and heed their advice. They probably know what they're talking about.

That is all for now. The house hunt continues and now I am all bitchy. Great.

Workout...

Tuesday Workout
Treadmill, 30 minutes, super sloooooowwwwww

Not much to report here. I still get that damn stitch in my side when I walk and now a lovely crotch pain afterwards. (LOL, this reminds me of Marcy's "broken crotch" a few months back.) I had my regular monthly OB appointment this morning and the Doc said the pain was common with a 2nd pregnancy. Apparently, the pelvic muscles and round ligament aren't as strong as before the 1st pregnancy and well, they just don't support as well. Lovely!

Changing the subject (to your relief I'm sure), we are still on the fence about our houses. We love both! And, our realtor says the other realtor is expecting an offer from someone today on the older house, so I guess we better get our arses in gear and make a decision.

School is okay...no group projects or mind numbing numerical problems this time around. I was thankful for that at first; However, the amount of reading both classes require is making me wish I just had some numbers to crunch instead. Who would have guessed that would ever happen with me?!?!?
